There are more than 3000 hot spring resorts in Japan. The number of the municipality is 1000 or more.The general election that began in 2016 was held in order to judge and select such a wide variety of attractive Japan’s hot springs from various viewpoints and to know the effect of hot springs and the charm of hot spring areas.
The Uruoi(beauty) Japan Project sponsored and 1,434 local governments throughout Japan entered the elections sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and sightseeing towns.A selection committee composed of the Ministry of the Environment, the Japan Hot Spring Association, the Japan Hot Spring Climate Physics Medical Association, etc. decided an excellent hot spring resort.The hot spring areas that won first place in each division are as follows.
